5 Free Tours at Walt Disney World

If you’re a big fan of Disney theme parks, particularly Walt Disney World’s 6 parks why not dive deeper into everything Walt Disney World Resort has to offer with one of the free tours that are on offer. Lots of things in WDW require handing over your hard-earned cash to the mouse but there are a number of free tours available that many people do not know about!

These tours give visitors an insight into some of the best resorts on Disney World property (and in the world!). Although a lot of the behind the scene tours come with a big price tag, there are some free walking tours available for all guests at no charge.

Wonders of Wilderness Lodge

The Wonders of Wilderness Lodge tour takes guests on a tour of the magnificent Wilderness Lodge deluxe resort. Inspired by America’s beautiful national parks, Wilderness Lodge celebrates the great outdoors and magnificent wilderness. The Wonders of Wilderness Lodge tour takes guests on a walking tour of this amazing resort covering all the hidden gems found in the hotel, inspiration for the designs, collections and decorations that make the Wilderness Lodge so wonderful. The one-hour tour is available from the main lobby at 9 am on select days during the week. This Disney tour is the perfect way to start a day in WDW with no park ticket and give you an insight into this amazing hotel.

Behind the Scenes: Culinary at Boma and Jiko

Foodies listen up! The Culinary Tour is a free 30-minute tour of Boma and Jiko restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and there are food samples. Open to all guests, this tour gives guests a short tour of the dining areas of each restaurant explaining the inspiration for the décor. Food samples are handing out in both restaurants, allowing you to sample some tasty African dishes. Cultural representatives from African nations lead the tour; they are full of knowledge and great facts and also point out Hidden Mickeys! 

Art of Animation

The Art of Animation resort at Walt Disney World is full of your favourite characters from The Little Mermaid to The Lion King. Rich in detail and beautiful artistic touches, the resort is perfect to explore on a non-park day. There is a free one-hour walking tour available each day for guests. Start in the main lobby, guests can enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the resort finding out all the details of the development, design and creation of this amazing resort.

Showplace of the Shore

Disney’s Boardwalk is a beautiful, cheery area of Walt Disney World that has dining, shopping and entertainment facilities. The Boardwalk Inn is one of the hotels on the waterfront that is themed after the Atlanta coast in the 20th century. This hotel has a free 45-minute tour for guests to hear the story and facts about this beautiful resort on Disney property. Learn about the history, inspiration for design, artifacts, restaurants and so much more on the Showplace of the Shore tour. Meet at the Belle Vue Lounge before 9 am and be in for a chance of hearing everything you need to know about the Boardwalk.

Sanaa

If you appreciate beautiful and well-themed restaurants, the Sanaa free tour is definitely worth doing. Sanna is a high-end African restaurant in the DVC villas of the Animal Kingdom Resort. With plenty of planning in advance (due to its location), you can enjoy a free tour of the restaurant if you arrive by 4 pm. The African guide will give guests an exclusive insight into the restaurant design and décor, meet one of the restaurant's chefs and see some of the best menu choices (and there will be free bread at the end!).
